Don't Wait Until Spring or Summer to Get Work Completed on Your Boat, Engine or Boat Trailer, Winter is the Perfect Time!

Top Reasons to Get Work Done During the Winter:

  1. Summer is for boating, not for repairs or maintenance! Don't miss weekends because your boat's in the shop or sitting in your driveway half complete. Complete the repairs, maintenance or upgrades now!
  2. Shorter Wait Time! Marine technicians and sub-contractors generally have more time available to get work done. Spring, summer and sometimes even fall are REALLY busy for most marine-related businesses. If you're looking to add some SeaDek, replace your canvas or upholstery or even some minor-to-major gelcoat or fiberglass work; now is the time so you're not waiting in line with everyone else.
  3. Save $! Our service department employs our marine technicians year round. We use the winter to boost their knowledge through online and in-class training. As a dealership, we're attending various boat shows around Southern Ontario and our technician's help out with the shows, but they'd rather keep their hands busy by working on boats; so we offer discounted rates during the winter

Suggestions of Winter Service Items:

  • Upholstery Repairs or Recovering We're not just talking the cockpit seats, how's your cabin look? Curtains need a refresh? Bed covers need replacing?
  • Canvas Repairs or Replacement. Have hard, cracking or yellowed eisenglass? Are the zippers pulling away from the fabric? Are there mouse chew holes or small (or large!) tears in your canvas?
  • New Bimini Top
  • Compound, Polish & Wax. No one wants to do this job, but it's really no fun in the blazing sun when you're really rather be USING your boat than working on it. Before & After of a compound, polish, wax for a customer during summer 2019Before & After ~ Compound, Polish, Wax
  • Interior Clean. Our detail department gets REALLY busy in the spring, so if you're looking for an interior clean you might be waiting WEEKS! Have it done now so you can just enjoy using your boat instead of cleaning it.
  • Engine Repower. Have you been thinking of adding horsepower to your boat? Winter's a great time, not only would you likely save money on the purchase of the new or replacement engine or motor, but now you'll also save on the labour to change out the engine
  • Impeller Change. It's a regular maintenance item, but, it's one of the most important and often forgotten.
  • Boat Trailer Maintenance. Make sure all of your running lights are functioning properly, have your trailer bearings repacked, bunks recarpeted or replaced with a plastic composite that's virtually water-tight. The list could go on for the piece of steel or aluminum between your boat and the road
  • Navigation & Electronic Upgrades. Sometimes all your boat needs is an update to the old, tired instrument cluster on the dash. Sun & age are the worst enemies to your gauges, compass and other navigational equipment such as your radar screen and chartplotter. Get a good deal on a product at a boat show, but don't have the time or experience necessary to install it yourself? Bring it in, we can install it for you.

  • Drive Reseal. It happens to everyone... water in your lower unit oil. It's as easy as picking up fishing line that a thoughtless fisherman threw in the water. If you've got a sterndrive, sometimes the upper unit needs a reseal too.
  • Transom Reseal. This is when all of your bellows get replaced. A regular maintenance job, typically recommended every 5-6 years. Being neglectful on this one could mean your boat takes on water. It's a good idea at this point to also replace your trim senders, lower shift cable and maybe even your gimbal bearing.
  • Stereo Upgrade. Still no Bluetooth on your boat? Or worse, still have a cassette player? Now's the time to upgrade so you can play your phone's playlist through your boat's speakers.
  • Marine Flooring. Looking to add a touch of class? Consider a marine foam flooring like SeaDek or MarineMat, or even a quality snap-in vinyl or carpetSeaDek Installation on 2005 Four Winns 378We had SeaDek installed to freshen up this '05 Four Winns 378
  • Wake Tower Installation. Why get a new boat, when you can add a tower for a fraction of the cost?
